When traveling to the Fort Belvoir area, transportation is available by plane, train or bus. The nearest major airport to Fort Belvoir is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Other nearby airports include Washington Dulles International Airport and Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Bus service is available through Metrobus, and local rail service is provided by Virginia Railway Express. If arriving by car, take Interstate 95 North to U.S. Route 1/ Exit 161 B which will be Fairfax County Parkway. Turn left at the traffic light onto Route 1 and the Tulley main gate entrance will be on your right. Tulley gate is a 24-hour gate. An Amtrak station is also located about 6 miles from Fort Belvoir's main gate. Temporary lodging is available at Fort Belvoir Lodging which offers reservations up to six months in advance. No pets are allowed in temporary lodging.
