Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on post or you can live off post. If you live off post, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.
On Post Housing ( Rent On-Post )
You can contact the housing office at 703-454-9700. Please keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on post housing to include wait times.
Off Post Single Family Rentals-You can choose to rent off post if you wish. Check our database for available single-family homes.

Fort Belvoir is home to the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command. Fort Belvoir is located in Fairfax County, Virginia. Fort Belvoir is easily accessed via Interstate 95 South. Visitors can take Exit 166A to Fairfax County Parkway and turn left at Route 1. The entrance to Fort Belvoir (Tulley Gate) is located at the first light on the right hand side. Housing on Fort Belvoir includes eleven different neighborhood communities. If soldiers are rank E-5 or lower, they are required to live on base. From two to five bedroom residences are available, and include amenities such as a swimming pool, fitness center, dining facility, and post chapel. Homes for sale or rent are available off-post. Contact the housing office for more information regarding what each individual BAH rate will cover. Temporary lodging is provides by Fort Belvoir Lodging which offers temporary accommodations for up to 30 days if approved. Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance. Pets are allowed in special rooms.
The Fairfax County Public School system is the area school district. If students live on Fort Belvoir, they attend Fort Belvoir Elementary School, Walt Whitman Middle School, or Mount Vernon High School. Children living off-post will attend school based on the neighborhood in which they live. Off-post residences fall within the Prince William County Public School System. Fort Belvoir has several centers offering child care. There are two Child Development Centers as well as the Fort Belvoir Child and Youth Services program. The Family Child Care program offers childcare in homelike environments providing flexible hours such as nights and weekends.
